Haters to the Left

Just so you know…

There is absolutely nothing funny about my strugglewith my weight. It is as serious to me as a smoker’s habit is to them. The thing is, struggling with it in silence, pretending everything is okay when it’s not has gotten old. I can’t do it anymore.

Everyone who knows me well knows I’m just a little off. They all know it, but they smile and nod whenever I tell them what I’m up to next. Well this year, all my friends and family who tolerate my lunacy will have to be subjected to my very public effort to beat down my diet demons. That’s what this blog is about for me. Oh – and losing 40 pounds in time to cover the 2008 Academy Awards.

So if you find yourself tempted to leave me a flamer, accusing me of ridiculing the obese, or not taking seriously the struggles of the portly, stop yourself. Please, dear god, stop yourself. If I can laugh at myself, and get others to laugh with me, then what the hell is YOUR problem?
